Vintage Silvered Square Rack

This square dish rack, with its solid base and netted handles, was designed to hold four crystal compartments. This piece appeared in Christofle's catalogue for 25 years, from 1907, a sign of the success of this model with its sober shapes enlivened by the roundness of its handles. The tie-holder shown here, made of silver-plated metal, was produced after 1914.
