Christofle Exhibition at Musée des Arts décoratifs

CHRISTOFLE, A BRILLIANT STORY
From November 14, 2024 to April 20, 2025, the musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris is honoring the creations and excellent know-how of the Maison by organizing a major exhibition: “Christofle, a brilliant story”.
From the 1830s to the present day, a line of goldsmiths, initiated by Charles Christofle and Henri Bouilhet, has transformed the shapes and decorations of silver to diffuse them into daily life. Associated with the greatest designers and fashion creators such as Gio Ponti, Andrée Putman, Karl Lagerfeld and Pharrell Williams, Christofle is an artistic laboratory which revolutionizes traditional goldsmithing by renewing its uses and adorning it with new colors and decorations.
From the small table spoon to the monumental vases of the World Fair, nearly 1,000 pieces of goldwork, jewelry, paintings, drawings and posters retrace the extraordinary destiny of this heritage house. The exhibition, curated by Audrey Gay-Mazuel, curator in charge of the 19th century – Art Nouveau collections, is presented in the Christine & Stephen A. Schwarzman galleries, in a spectacular and immersive scenography highlighting the backstage of the goldsmith's profession and the sumptuous tables of legend.
