This cream pitcher is part of a Transat-style tea and coffee set, designed for the transatlantic liner Normandie. It is adorned with the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique logo, which operated the ship in early 1935. With its clean lines, this understated piece embodies the Art Deco style.


Having become famous, Maison Christofle was solicited by foreign sovereigns such as Emperor Maximilian of Mexico, the Tsar of Russia, Germany of the Kaiser, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Sultan Abdulaziz of the Ottoman Empire.
