Sarah Espeute

Sarah Espeute for Christofle

To celebrate the launch of the Infini Christofle flatware, Sarah Espeute created a hand-embroidered tablecloth in trompe l’oeil. This trick of the eye brings to life a vibrant and modern table.

This exceptional creation is a limited edition of just 16 pieces.

Sarah Espeute is a French artist-designer. In her studio in Marseille, located in the South of France, she explores embroidery in a poetic and minimalist way. Each piece tells a story inspired by her sensibility and becomes a sensitive work in the heart of everyone.

Sarah uses two types of embroidery for her creations: traditional handmade embroidery in Marseille and Cornely, embroidery done on an old manual 19th century machine, in Paris.

She has led the way for independent embroiderers, showing them her way of embroidering. They are artists like her, living in Marseille and sharing the same love for embroidery. It is a small, local, and friendly community with a focus on sustainability. Each piece is handcrafted in France using high quality French products.

Sarah loves old materials. With the sense of valuing the old while thinking of durability, she collects linen & cotton sheets from private individuals all over France. These pieces can be between 50 and 100 years old. Therefore, each fabric comes with its own family history.
