Created in 1891 by the Christofle workshops, this vases is characteristic of the naturalist movement, at a time when fauna and flora inspired the creation of objects and works of art, just before Art Nouveau stylized its forms to the extreme.
This vase represents a bunch of carrots with astonishing realism, an abundance of detail in the ornamentation and foliage. This vase of 10,5cm in height is made of patinated silver-plated metal, a technique that brings out the reliefs of the decor for a chiseled finish.
