The Gravy boat Swan is a creation of great finesse designed in 1925 by Christian Fjerdingstad, a Danish silversmith.
Highly appreciated by Christofle, this artist contributed to the renewal of goldsmithing in the first third of the 20th century. He proposed excellent handcrafted pieces that Christofle sometimes adapted to allow everyone to enjoy these elegant Art Deco creations.

A first bi-material version of the gravy boat swan was presented in the Christofle - Baccarat pavilion at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris. It was made of amber and silver. This second version, created in 1935, is made of silver only. It presents a clever game in which the handle of the spoon takes the place of the neck and head of the animal.

Christofle Vintage Collection pieces are second hand pieces selected and authenticated by Christofle. They are pieces in good condition and restored in our workshops in Yainville (Normandy)... More information
