This set, comprising a teacup and saucer decorated with a “Four Seasons” motif, was created by Christofle for the Gallia collection around 1913. While it features nature-inspired decoration and the sinuous forms of Art Nouveau, these elements are integrated into a band and arranged geometrically, heralding the preference for symmetry in the emerging Art Deco style.
Christofle Vintage Collection pieces are second hand pieces selected and authenticated by Christofle. They are pieces in good condition and restored in our workshops in Yainville (Normandy)...

Having become famous, Maison Christofle was solicited by foreign sovereigns such as Emperor Maximilian of Mexico, the Tsar of Russia, Germany of the Kaiser, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Sultan Abdulaziz of the Ottoman Empire.
